I
presently have the honour of being Chairman of Causeway Hospital Radio working
with a great team of volunteers to help promote or station within the hospital.
I
have been a member of hospital radio since we went live in October 2001 and present
shows on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings.
I
have a wide and varied taste in music and keep myself up to date as much as
possible with new artists and their music.
If
I told you my music interest stems from the sixties you can then put me into a
certain age bracket, but I firmly believe that much of the music today has been
in many ways influenced by the sixties .Music to me is a drug and every
opportunity I get I am always listening to something.
That
is why I get so much pleasure in playing patients requests on hospital radio, as
you get a chance to meet people and chat about and hear their music tastes. It
is very rewarding when they acknowledge and thank you for their requests.
Away
from hospital radio my other interests are golf and amateur dramatics. I have
been Chairman of Ballywillan Drama Group Portrush for twelve years and as a
present committee member I hopefully, in a few years, will be celebrating 50
active years, as a member. Over the years I have acted in, produced and
directed pantomimes and musicals.
We
at Hospital Radio are always looking for more members so
if you have a bit of free time why not contact the station and you could become
part of a very special team.
